PC Maintenance

Often PC’s get bogged down with ongoing use and need a tune up to maintain the best performance. The following can usually be completed in around an hour and is recommended when your PC starts to feel sluggish

  • Check and apply all operating system patches and updates
  • Carry out a virus scan with either the operating system’s scan tool or a third party tool you may have in use. Check the scan is scheduled for regular automatic scans
  • Check that a firewall tool is in place on your PC and functioning
  • Identify any unused application or programmes installed on your PC and remove if required
  • Identify unused start up applications and prevent from starting at start up to prevent slow down of performance
  • Check your internet browser is up to date and set for auto updating
  • Check if scheduled backups are being carried out as expected
